None of my shortcuts works in Photoshop CC

This is the article I couldn’t find on the Internet.

I am on a new windows laptop with a fresh install of Photoshop CC. I mainly open it for to do a quick little edit for a picture for a presentation. Have been using Photoshop for ten years — I know the shortcuts I need.

Then imagine the horror of trying to edit a image without being able to select any of the tools with their shortcuts. So you have to click on the icons. It slows you down. But for now it is doable. Until you make a mistake and realize ctrl + z is no working.

I do what I always do. I go online and search in hope to find people with the same problem. I find multiple forums and reddit threads. I try all of the suggested solutions. Uninstall Photoshop, uninstall keyboard layouts and making a new preference file. Nothing Works! Absolutely nothing! So I do something I never do — I contact customer support.

Then something strange happens. I manage to get hold of a person in this era of chatbots. It ends up with him gaining remote access to my computer and basically doing what I have tried. I took 45 minutes before he surrendered. Adobe then scheduled a Level 2 call. This time I was called up by a nice Indian man who also gained access to my phone. After a bit of trying the same he finally did something new. He created a new administrator account. BOOOM it just worked. So I have no clue what caused it and the solution was more or less the typical — try to restart it.

SOLUTION — SUM UP

Does none of your shortcuts work in Photoshop? Try to install a new administrator account and see if it works there.
